Change the Course of Your Eternal Destiny

If we could turn the clock back, there are some things we would like to undo or do that we did or failed to do. If we had made the right decision, things would have been very different. If we had changed the course of our lives, we would not be where we are today. Although we cannot turn the clock back, there is still time to change the course of your life for the better. If you refuse to change course, you might end up being destroyed like the Titanic.

The Titanic was a British passenger ship which was the largest ship afloat at the time. She sank in the Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912. Her sinking is considered as one of the deadliest maritime disasters in history. Her builders had built her had boasted that even God could not sink her since she was unsinkable. It just took an iceberg to sink her.

On 15 April 1912, the Titanic was on her maiden journey from England to New York City. She had 2,224 passengers and crew on board. That night, the Titanic was warned several times to change course as she was headed for disaster. But she ignored the warnings and continued moving in the same direction. Consequently, she collided with an iceberg and 1,502 people perished.

If only the Titanic had obeyed and changed course, that disaster would have been avoided. If only she had heeded the warning and changed course . . .

The Super Highway
Millions of people all over the world have messed up their lives simply because they have refused to change course when warned that they were headed in the wrong direction. Calamity has overtaken millions of people who are now either sick, in prison, in addictions, helpless, divorced, dead or in hell simply because they refused to change the course of their lives when they were warned. The red flag was up but they ignored it and kept going. The alarm bell was ringing but they either ignored it or turned it off and kept going.

Millions are also living in the land of regret and wishful thinking. Their constant refrain goes something like: “If only I had … If only I had not … I wish I had … I wish I had not …” But it is now too late for them to reverse what happened.

The road that leads to the land of regret and wishful thinking is a very well traveled superhighway. It is well-marked, beautiful, straight, very easy to find and it is accessible to anyone who cares to walk on it. Multitudes who are heavily laden with all sorts of baggage are traveling on that road (Matthew 7:13-14).

People on that superhighway come from all races, social classes and religions. They are lovers of themselves, lovers of money, lovers of pleasure, boastful, proud, unholy, disobedient, selfish, abusive, ungrateful, brutal, slanderous, unforgiving, without self-control, treacherous, conceited and arrogant (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

Also on the highway are the sexually immoral, murderers, thieves, drug addicts, robbers, liars, drunkards, channelers, spiritists, psychics, Satanists, devil-worshipers, sorcerers, mystics, mediums, occultists, and those who consult psychics and communicate with the dead (Deuteronomy 18:10-11 & Galatians 5:19-21).

Also on the road are those in false religions, cults, and apostate churches. Also on the road are false prophets, false preachers, idolaters, the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, those who practice magic arts, evolutionists, atheists, agnostics and those who are politically correct but Biblically incorrect (Revelation 21:8).

It is distressing because many people do not even realize that they are on the super highway that leads to death and destruction. They think they are on the right road while they have been traveling on the wrong road all along.

Millions of people are in hell today simply because they did not know they were on the wrong road. Others refused to change course when they were warned they were on the wrong road. These people are now in hell being tormented and regretting for not harkening to the warnings to change the course of their lives. If only they had listened and changed the course of their lives, they would not be in hell today being tormented in such unbearable way” (Luke 16:22-26).

The Narrow Road
The good news is that there is still time for you to change the course of your life for the better. If you are traveling on the broad road, you need to exit it at once and take the right road before it is too late. Exit and take the narrow road that will take you to the right destination. This could be your last chance to change course before you reach your destination.

There is also hope for you if you are living in the land of regret and wishful thinking. Although you cannot turn back the clock and either undo what you did or do what you failed to do, there is still hope for you. All you need is to take the narrow road back to the land of hope and life. Once you do this, you will become a new creature in Jesus Christ and your past will no longer be counted against you (2 Corinthians 5:17).

The narrow road is the opposite of the super highway and it steers people away from an awful eternity. It is less traveled and very few people are on it (Matthew 7:13-14).

The narrow road is rough and many people do not like it because it demands denial and sacrifice. It is a road of ridicule, persecution, insults and sometimes loneliness. One has to squeeze in order to get through for it is very narrow. Any one carrying baggage cannot be able to walk on that road.

On the narrow road are people who do not indulge in the immoral pleasures of this world. They have a one-mind track to walk on the narrow road at all costs even if it means ridicule, persecution, insults, abuse and death. Their aim is to reach their destination which is heaven where they will live forever with God.

To join the narrow road, you must first admit that you are lost and traveling on the wrong road that leads to hell and destruction. Next, you must admit that you need God’s help to abandon the super highway in favor of the narrow road. It is as simple as that.

The only way for you to change course from the superhighway of sin and death to the narrow road of salvation and life is to believe with your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day. Then ask Jesus to forgive your sins, give you his free gift of eternal life and write your name in his Book of Life (Romans 10:8-11). After that you will be walking on the narrow road that leads to eternal life in heaven.

It is as simple as that. God will forgive you all your sins, no matter how horrible or vile they are. God forgives murderers, sexual perverts, the sexually immoral, thieves, robbers, witches, liars and blasphemers. There is no sin that God does not forgive – except one.

The only sin that God does not forgive people is that of rejecting Jesus Christ as the only savior of mankind. That is the only sin that sends people to hell otherwise if they believe in Jesus Christ, all their other sins are forgiven.

There is no other entrance into the narrow road except through Jesus Christ. You can exit the superhighway and enter the narrow road at any time. However, today and right now is the best time to exit the broad road and take the narrow one (2 Corinthians 6:1-2).

Act at once; do not procrastinate or wait for tomorrow might be too late for you. Learn from the example of the Titanic and heed the warning while there is still time to change the course of your life. Procrastination or ignoring the warning might prove very costly with eternal implications that no one will be able to undo.
